The Roadeo
3-Day Road Stage Race | July 11-13, 2025 | Drummond, Philipsburg & Missoula
USAC Montana State Road Championships — Time Trial, Road Race, and Criterium

DO AERO this summer at the ROADEO, an epic three-day stage race in the heart of Big Sky Country. Open to all comers with something for everyone, this USAC-sanctioned event will be a spectacular weekend on the bike.

Stage 1 — Friday, July 11 | Gold Rush Time Trial | Drummond, MT | Course map
Stage 2 —  Saturday, July 12 | Pintler Classic Road Race | Philipsburg, MT | 1-lap course map / 2-lap course map
Stage 3 — Sunday, July 13 | Bitter Critter Criteriums and Clinic | Missoula, MT | Course map

The Roadeo kicks off in the bustling metropolis of Drummond, Montana on Friday, July 11 with the Gold Rush Time Trial, a classic super fast and flat course over 11.6 miles with only 290ft of climbing, finishing near the Goldcreek highway exit.  With the prevailing and strong west wind in the Bearmouth and Drummond area, we expect some insane average speeds.  If the tailwind isn't enough of a push, the Gold Rush Time Trial will serve as the 2025 Montana State Time Trial Championships.

On Saturday, July 12, the Pintler Classic Road Race revives the opening stage of the Ecology Center Classic — the pro stage race that attracted national-level talent in the early 2000s — with a legendary course that screams Montana. Starting in Philipsburg, racers will roll along the foothills of the Pintler Mountains, tackle a dirt sector on Rock Creek Road, and climb back up to sweeping views of the Anaconda Range before dropping back down into Philipsburg. 2 laps for higher categories and 1 lap for novices, juniors, and masters.

New for 2025, the Roadeo will conclude on Sunday, July 13 with the Bitter Critter, a fast and flat four-corner criterium around historic Fort Missoula at the base of the Bitterroot Mountains. Don’t let the four corners fool you; this criterium will be made very difficult by its short overall length. Can you say “rubber band effect?” We'll have a criterium clinic open to the community and a MTB crit to show that we love our fat-tired friends. Take the sandpaper to your black chili compound and show us your sprint power.
